Ahhhh.

Today was West Divison day. I was in charge of the flora and fauna quiz and A was my helper. BIG mistake. I really don't know where Mrs Lim got her "some of the seniors think that you're assertive" idea from, but I sure do wish I WAS assertive. I pratically let that power hungry person walk all over me, with dire consequences.

After going through three groups, she was already trying to take charge of the whole thing, but I very nicely pretended to ignore it and managed to wrestle the authority back, sweet smile on my face disappearing not even once.

I could tell she was frustrated, after all, she had lost her bid for power and I was still nice to her about it.

When the last patrol from Teck Whye Secondary came along, I could tell that her mood was seriously going downhill.

Not everyone is as smart as her, a triple science student, and for that, she was extremely catty towards those poor girls.

The girls took quite long to finish the quiz (and they didn't do too well either) and they stumbled on alot of the questions and they asked each other questions that were kind of silly; only to have A make snotty comments. Some of the questions, asked primary school science. Truth be told, even I forgot what plant has an underground stem, etc.

The kicker was when A commented, "If you don't know your primary science, how can you go to secondary school." That was way overboard. I gave her a glare which the Teck Whye girls saw, too bad she was too absorbed in her self-centered world to notice.

Right after they finished, I left the table and apologized to the girls for A's behaviour. I admit I was very upset and I told quite a few of the MG guides. Anyway, I forgot all about it till Miss Ng called both of us over.

My heart immidiately sank, my first thought was "Shit. Shit. Who tattled?" but I later learned that it was the Teck Whye girls who told their teacher, who in turn, complained to Miss Ng.

In the end, I had to follow A as she went to apologize and I ended up staring at my shoes and feeling like slapping her.

Ay. I feel kind of bad. I should have stopped her at the first catty comment, instead of letting her continue her one-woman insult show, what happened to my authority? I even tried to help the Teck Whye girls with their quiz to make amends but the insults override the kindness. I can't believe I let her walk all over me. Sigh.

Anyway, some good has come out of this, even though I still feel bad. A has shown her true colours to Miss Ng, perhaps roobing her of her promised Company Leader role that was undoubtly reserved for her because of her sister. If she becomes company leader, I'll scream in front of all the guides as it's announced. I can't comprehend being under such a tyrant as her.

On a more light-hearted note, I abandoned my photo-taking 'expedition' to take photos of the cows as it started to rain while I was on the bus back home. When I took bus to school for Bittersweet Symphony, all the humping cows had 'died' during the massive downpour.

I don't know what happened during those short 12 hours, but as I was on the bus to school today all the cows had died. I was giggling away like some kid as the bus (which was totally empty except for me and the driver) as we passed the field of dead cows. When I came back home after West Div day, all the cows were propped up again. Moo.
