AAAAAAAAAAA I WANT TO WATCH DAYS OF GLORY!

WHY MUST ALL THE GOOD MOVIES COME OUT DURING MY EXAMS?!
Today I was at the BTP's Pizza Hut for lunch with Shermaine, Justine, Wilder and Charis because the canteen was closed (except for Hock Seng's stall) and we needed to eat proper food.

So anyway I was heading to use the toilet and didn't notice the raised level of the bathroom corridor. Now I bet you're all thinking "HAHAHAHA she tripped over the step. ROFLMAO!!!", but it was worse!

I was coming from the side and as I spur around the corner I barely had time to react to the step, so I walked/mini-jumped/boggied up and then collided into the wall, whacking the el cheapo hanging picture there and turning it askew. New record in weirdness.

I finished the E Math December FYS and the Bio TYS (minus the essay questions).

I also saw a fat ugly rat yesterday.

The O levels are coming.

I don't feel prepared.

Okay so I am back. Anyway yesterday was an interesting and fun day, 'studying' at Liz's place.

Just now I was looking for 'I Just Died in Your Arms' by goodness-knows-who, since I thought the original performer was Foreigner, but it turns out Journey did a cover and maybe even the edition by Foreigner is a cover of the one by Cutting House! (Oh and Air Supply did 1 version too, but I;m sure that's a cover). So anyway I went to the source of all knowledge: Wikipedia!

I found the page after typing in the title in the search bar and what I saw next made me burst out laughing, "(I Just) Died in Your Arms is one of many songs banned from Hospital radio stations due to its sensitive lyrics."

I find it very amusing.

Tis' 2 weeks to the O levels! This blog is officially on a hiatus, unless of coruse I need to 1) destress 2) something unbelievably funny/weird happened to me, or 3) a combination of both!

Since weird stuff happens to me all the time the probably of my blogging another entry is kinda high, but don't count on it nonetheless. See you guys after the Os!

So yup, the Bio prac was today. All went quite well I guess, I had enough time to finish everything with time to spare. Only hitch is the Bendict's section, which due to a technicality might or might not be correct :/

Anyway the examiner I had looked so hot! Funny part is, I've sort of seen him before, in my dream! He was called 'Sheril's brother' (he's malay) there :/

Hehehe he was nice to me! When I didn't put the papers into his arms neatly and they sort of fell, I went "Sorry!" and tried to pick them up, then he went "It's okay" in this nice tone of voice comapared to the harsh tone and sarcasm he was using towards some other students. Plus I caught him looking at me! HAHAHAHA. But then again he might have been staring my huge, pimple-d foreheard because I used a hairband to sweep all my hair back because it was hot in the lab. He's not married too! He had no ring on his fingers, I kind of checked them as he walked by :/ Oh well. I doubt I'll ever see him again!

See! It IS a dingy dead pig pouch!
Okay so like, when my mum came back home, I told her about the missing note book, so she said she'd drive me to school so I could go look for it in the canteen since all the people I called said they didn't have it with them.

My mum drove to the canteen and I got off and went to look around the tables where we were sitting, then I went to look at the bread shelves where Hock Seng usually keeps all the lost and found stuff - nothing. So I started to walk back to the car. My mum had the car headlights switched on and the car was facing Hock Sengs' Bus, and as I was walking back to the car, out came Hock Seng! I guess the lights woke him up or something. I was totally surprised!

Anyway he called out to me "Xiao Mei Mei, ni zai zhao she mo?*" so I had to reply back in my half-assed mandarin that I was looking for my bio notebook and he brought me to the bread shelves and stooped down and retrieved my notebook from the inner regions of the sliding steel drawers, and to my surprise he brought out this familiar looking dingy dead pig pouch. "Zhe ge ye shi ni de ma?**"

It was Choy Yoke's brand new creative MP3 player in the old pouch! Gosh. So anyway I took both from him and he was like "Kan! Ni men mei chi luan fang dong xi, yi hou yao xiao xing!**" and then he patted my head O.O

So now while I feel bad for the way I've been treating him, since I am really paranoid of germs and I always have this feeling he's filled with them (and all the science labs and toilets too), I feel this urge to go wash my hair again. Yup, I always knew he was a good guy, just a little weird and unhygenic :/ Still, thanks Uncle Hock Seng! (Like he'd ever read this)

*Little girl, what are you looking for?
**Is this also yours?
*** Look! You girls left all your things lying around, next time be more careful!
Today I went to school to study bio! In the morning, Yihui and learnt that there was no one raising the flag, so we ran all the way to the flag poles to raise the flags! I guess the reason we were so eager to do it was because it would be the last time we'd ever raise the flags again - probably for the rest of our lives! Gosh. That seems pretty significant, come to think of it :/

I guess now being Sec 4 and about to leave MGS, this time period is filled full of lasts for many of us, last time singing the national anthem as an MGS girl, last time setting up campfire, last time sitting for any science practical (maybe?). Yet with all these lasts and all the wonderful memories we've had in MGS, the future with all it's firsts beckoning to us looks of so comforting and exciting.

This might or might not be the last post I do before I stop using the internet, might blog something tomorrow on Bio prac.

Anyway yup, here's a list of all my papers (pray for us all!):
17th Oct - Bio Prac
2nd Nov - Lit 1
6th Nov - Math 1, SS
8th Nov - English
9th Nov - Bio, Geog 2
10th Nov - Math 2
13th Nov - Lit 2
15th Nov - Geog 1
17th Nov - History

And oh gosh! I just realised as I took out my diary that my Biology notebook, with all my bio notes is missing! I don't feel very panicky because I already know most of my bio stuff, but still! Gosh :/ I left it in school. I hope someone picked it up for me!

P.S. Shabana is very sick, pray for her to get better in time for tomorrow's Biology practical!

Today my grandfather set fire to the new toaster oven. Hooray!

Friday, October 13, 2006

Today was the last day of school. The baccalaureate service was prety good and Lifeng (yes it is her!) came back to speak to us.

So yup. Last day. Strangely I don't feel that sad, but sort of touched and happy, glad to have been in MGS for the past 10 years (:

And my tag is screwed.

I don't know why, but I keep having this feeling that I am seriously pissing everyone off now, especially when I'm stressed :(

Today was I watching ET, and they did a short on that fat model who modelled for the Jean Paul Gautier show and made huge waves when she appeared.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

So apparently she weights in at a hefty 291 lbs, or 131.99 kilograms in local speak.

I am thin by virtue of genes and a high metabolic rate. I'm not anorexic, I don't take laxatives nor rush to puke out my stomach's contents. Do I wish I was fatter? Yup, sure do. I know I can use a little meat on my bones because at my current weight, I will most probably suffer from health problems like osteoporosis and whatnot later on in my life. Already my high metabolic rate gives me problems because I have to eat frequently or else I will get gastic pains and tummy aches.

So anyway yup, being thin does have it's health problems. So does being fat. Hugely so. At 291 lbs, that model weighs twice as much as my father. That is freaky. When I saw her, she reminded me of the bio question we had for the mid years or something, the one asking us on the dangers of being grossly overweight, complete with disturbing Uncle Fester lookalike fat dude.

In the interview on ET she kept emphasising on how much she loved herself and how beauty is whatever you make it to be. To this I vehemently agree. Botero's famous paintings of rather rotund people all fetch a high price. Beauty indeed is in the eye of the beholder. Loving youself and treasuring your life is indeed very important too. However what struck me the most and annoyed me to no end was how she constantly emphasised it. Like she was happy - being grossly overweight!

When I talk about overweight I don't mean an extra 20kgs here or there, I mean 'Holy shit you're kidding me right?' weight, like hers. There is a boundary between loving yourself for who you are, and being completely blind to how abusive you are to your body. Any Sec 3 Bio student worth their salt could easily rattle off the serious health implications that are brought about from being overweight, nevermind overweight to such an extent as hers. Hypertension, clogged arteries, risk of heart attack, you name the coronary disease and she's a candidate for it. To love yourself means taking care of your body, and teaching others that loving yourself is alright because we are all different, but don't encourage them to not take a pro-active role in making themselves healthy!

So yes, by all means love yourself for who you are, but also love your body and the one life that comes with it!

Okay I just finished my essay and packing my bag. I feel satisfied with the work I did today (:

Anyway yup, for the record my favourite songs from Mae are Suspension, Soundtrack for Our Movie and Ready and Waiting to Fall.
Hahaha, I had no idea people still read my blog nowadays :/

Been busy with studying and so on, so less time to blog. If I'm not studying I'm probably either sleeping since I get tired easily :/

Plus I keep forgetting about what I want to blog about.

Ohh I just remembered something.

I HATE MEDIACORP KIDS SHOWS. They are seriously so shitty it blows your mind to outer space and whatnot. I was up early today because I slept early last night and the TV was turned to Kids Central, and THE MAGIC GARDEN was on. Basically it's some pseudo-drama about some kid who suddenly gains the ability to talk to plants and goes about trying to make his school win some 'Best Garden' competition. Right. So anyway he has this whole gang of badly dressed fairies and whatnot helping him.

Today's episode featured the poisoning of some mangrove and the kid stumbling upon weird ass swamp thing. And you know what el swampo was like? He spoke like gollum from LOTR and looked like a lost NS boy with his ARMY CAMOFLAGE face paint and outfit -_________-

And then there was this weird scene about this guy, some professor (you could tell because he was dressed EXACTLY like a sterotypical professor, red blow tie, suspenders, white hair + beard and glasses) who invented some 'soil tester' to see how healthy the soil was. And do you know what the soil tester was? It was a ODT, an ORAL DIGITAL THERMOMETER. My reaction was literally 'O.O WTF?!'

The acting was really bad too and all the characters were so sterotyped. Like the cutesy-pie girl sidekick had pigtails which were tied really high up.

Anyway this really looks like a rant of sorts. Happy reading, I have to get back to my GOOD GOVERNANCE essay.

I just realised I've been listening to a cover of Domo Arigato Mr Roboto by the Polysics, and not the original by Styx. To be fair the former had completely different lyrics and has a very funny, must watch music video! Hooray for YouTube. Go watch!
