Hohoho. What a nice past week it's been. Flag raising from Monday to Thursday and heavy (not to mention a little strange) exams throughout the week. what a joy! Thank goodness it's all over.

Flag raising was exceptionally bad for me since it is my innate nature to worry incessantly about many things. After being re-taught how to tie the flag properly, Jia Hui and I sat down on the quadrangle steps and watched all the girls mill about upstairs, when the bell rang we stood up to take our positions in front of the flag posts. Unbeknownst to us, the white power (which I assumed to be bleach) which I saw earlier in the morning lying all over the steps had stuck to our skirts. Nice white asses for the whole school to see.

To top it off, I was so nervous during the National Anthem that I mentally erased one whole verse of Majulah Singapura and the Singapore Flag flying exceptionally high for the second verse bore testament to that. It was so freaky! I felt like everyone was staring at me (and they probably were seing that my skirt was white and I was raising the Singapore flag) and my legs felt like they were reduced to jelly.

I had Chinese compo (no lao hu!) and then Geog. Ugh. I misread another question again and hence lost 9 marks. When will I learn to read my Geog questions properly?

Tuesday was English 2 (comprehension) and Chemistry. English 2 went pretty well, except I kept (and still do) agonising after my choice of words for my English summary, "abysmal lack of it(communication)". Chemistry was well, Chemistry. I find myself rather apathetic to it now, a combination of utter depression and a ferocious teacher. I hope I pass at least, though I doubt it, knowing myself I'll probably fail by 1 mark or something.

On Wednesday I had wonderful E Math. But before the most wonderful of all my required subjects, I had a totally wonderful flag raising (I know you can't hear the inflection of my voice, but I hope you've been smart enough to sense the sarcasm)!

It was raining when I got to school and it continued to drizzle when the time came around for Jia Hui and I to collect the flags for flag raising.

"Is it rain positions?" we asked the lady at the counter, "Is it rain positions Mrs Sim?" asked the lady at the counter. "Yes, it's rain postions because it's raining" came the reply from the smartly dressed principal.

Simple enough? Oh no. In my fantasically deluded mind, rain positions = flag poles at bamboo courtyard (ie: the old poles about 50m away from the ones we were supposed to use). So I took both flags from Jia Hui and hid them snugly in my jacket so avoid getting them wet and we ran through the drizzle to the bamboo courtyard.

For some innate reason we didn't start hoisting up the flags immidiately but chose to sit around on the wooden platforms (some that would pay off later) and talk. When we noticed the Pa systems was nowhere to be seen and that we hardly saw any MGS girls about, I started to get this very bad feeling, especially when the bell rang and nothing changed.

After a few minutes, I couldn't take the strangeness of the sitation anymore and got Jia Hui to run back with me to the main flag poles at the quadrangle. Oh my! I almost died when I saw the WHOLE SCHOOL staring down on us as we ran. T minus 2 minutes to assembly!

I frantically gave Jia Hui the MGS flag and quickly attached the flag and raised it befre tying it up, unfortunately Jia Hui had trouble attaching her flag and was delayed. It was still raining. T minus 15 seconds!

I ran over and started to help her hoist up the flag and tie. T minus zero seconds! And that is how I ended up standing infront of the MGS flagpole in the drizzling rain, with my skirt at an angle, with my jacket on the wet ground. Fun fun fun!

After the command to be at ease was given, Jia Hui and I ran to shelter where we should have rightfully been from the start. D'0h! It was very funny though. I still think of it and crack up. It didn't help that Mrs Sim gave a devotion on phobias: flagophobia, the fear of flag raising.

Afterwards we apolodised to Mrs Sim and she was really nice about it and Jia Hui and I scarpered off for our E Math paper.

I was cold during E Math and my jacket was damp from the ground and I lost 24 marks. One 4 mark question was on acceleration, thing is, we weren't taught about acceleration! Wa lao eh. All the physics girls knew and the bio girls didn't know how to do it! Grrrrrrr. Not fair!

Biology was simply the strangest paper I ever sat for.

Thursday was Hist elect and Math. Math was bad, I ran out of time yet again. Hisotry was alright I guess, I hope I do well though my essay question for 12 marks was answered mostly based on my general knowledge. Sigh.

I didn't have to do flag raising on Friday! Hah :D I got to go later for my Lit paper since I don't do A Math. Lit was quite alright but my arm felt like dropping off and my head was spinning after the paper.

Weekend :D took a much needed rest while everyone else crammed for A Math and Physics! Hehehe.

Nothing really eventful happened except that as I was about to get to the stairwell to climb the stairs to church, I tripped over the step and flew headfirst towards the toilets -.- I managed to grab the corner of the wall, preventing myself from falling down but letting the Ong brothers and Neh Neh Nail see my go flying. Argh.
