Now that I'm talking to someone over MSN about yearbook photos, I have this really random note to add: for some reason I always look terrible in all professional photos.

Watching stand up comedy routines on YouTube is a good way to destress.

This guy does a very cool and entertaining routine on those movie trailers you see in cinemas (:

I'm really tired nowadays. So far I've finished all the Bio tys questions, MCQ and Section A, from Cells to Transport in Animals (1/2 done). That's good I guess.

I was looking around my MSN list just now when I saw this link to Hidayah's blog. I had no idea she even had one! True to Hidayah form, it is indeed kind of queer with her ramblings and writings, not to mention a very interesting story on Fernando Torres.

Just now I was trying to do the Geog work assigned to us by Nat Lim and gosh, I was dying :( I've never felt so many problems with Geog before, like all of a sudden I couldn't answer a durn thing in the book :( I feel very depressed now. Argh. Bloody Geog. All of my subjects are so depressing now.

On a more random note, I have this really big urge to play The Sims 2 now. Since I'm not going to JC for the first two months, I guess I could use this time to become some fatty glued to the computer screen and play to my heart's content after I finish working, or something.

This post has completely no content and no purpose, grrrr.

O what a tangled web we weave!

And the whale face '-___________________-' is copyright to Lee Suat Ying.
It's been 3 days since I recieved my pre-lim results. I guess I do feel much better than I did on Monday, but I still can't help but feel bitterly disappointed with my results. Anyway the idea is to keep pushing on and study more!

So for the past few days I've been staying back in school till around 5:00PM at least, doing work.

Studying aims:
Finish 80% of the Bio TYS (minus Section B)
Finish all Geog MCQs, 2 essay question per topic
Finish 80% of E Math TYS

I haven't really been studying anything else since I've recieved my results and I guess I've been complaining a lot to people about how much I've under performed, the bad choices I made during the exam and the sheer weirdness of all my results. Example: SS/Hist. I scored 20/25 for SS source based and 10/25 for essay because I messed up my format. For hist source based I scored 12/25 and 20/25 for essay. I had stars drawn for the two parts with '20's. -_____________________________________-

Just have to keep hacking at it I guess.

I think that even though I recieved shit marks for English, I did make the right choice after all.

I am emo.

Sunday, September 17, 2006

Okay I've calmed down a little, I think. Anyway let me tell you this amusing incident that happened to me a few days ago (some of you have probably heard it).

I was at the chicken rice stall buying food for Mansheel and myself. She wanted a fried egg with her chicken rice. In the process of thinking of the word for 'fried' and relaying it to the auntie, my brain short circuited on the way and I said: 'zha dan (bomb)', the 'zha' for 'zha zhi (fried chicken)'. Anyway Jacinth (who was next to me), the auntie and I all burst out laughing madly. It was quite absurd. In the end I said 'chao dan (fried egg)' to the auntie and Mansheel got her fried egg.
Oh my GOD. The cut-off for ACJC is 9 points (o levels) and 11 points for the pre-lims. Oh my God! *Runs around in circles freaking out*

AAAAAAAAA! AAAAAAAAA! AAAAAAAAA!!!

Right.

AAAAAAAAA!!!

Actually I was going to blog about the Longest Day, but I suddenly thought of the ACJC cut off again.

AAAAAAAAA!

It rained. So we had to move all the festivities into the Audi, the prep for the campfire all wasted!

Marks out tomorrow, marks out tomorrow!!!

Ah hell. I'll just wait till tomorrow so I can blog something coherent.

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

Hi, just taking a little time off from doing my most hated math topic: vectors (part of why I decided to take a break even though I started not too long ago) to do this short entry.

School has started and for the past few days I haven't been getting home till past 6PM, practising for the longest day dance and all and I haven't been able to sleep properly for the past few days too so I'm kind of tired.

I think I'm quite screwed for the pre-lims. June Tan called the EOP question I did (only 3 out of all the full lit girls) for people who "are very brave, or suicidal". Thank you Miss Tan. Also the TWH question I did was also said to be done badly, overall, so there goes lit. For geog I did atrociously bad for the MCQ section and paper 2 is't looking that good either. For english I ended up writing all over the place, out of topic, and turned my compo into an incoherent mass of words. Bio is okay I guess, but damn it! Something is wrong when I do better for bio MCQ than for geog MCQ! SS/Hist is also looking kind of bad, I have a feeling I did very badly for all the essays. I guess my only consolation is that I managed to meet my target grade of a B4 for E Math, but overall I'm really quite depressed.

I really did work hard for my pre-lims, but it seems like I'm going to do much worse for the pre-lims than I did for my mid years. Sigh. It doesn't help that the ACJC entry points has been getting higher and higher (or lower and lower, depending on how you look at it), or that the occupation I want to persue usually takes in only the best of the best :/

I feel very sad.

Saturday, September 09, 2006

My neck still hurts. I really hope it gets better by Monday when prac starts again. I have been unable to practise for 2 days! I hope I don't forget the dance moves :/

Friday, September 08, 2006

Today a pulled a muscle on the left side of my neck. Ow.

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Yesterday I returned to school to practise for the Longest Day item. My gosh, it is DAMN hard - for me anyway.

I am a clumsy person, built all gawky with bones jutting out from every joint. I constantly stumble, fall down and walk into stationary objects. I am more built like some ballerina than a hip hop dancer with lots of 'jelly'. Anyway the point is, i suck, at hip hop dancing, which is exactly what the item b3 is putting up for the Longest Day. Joy.

Because I am bad at it, I had to practise multiple times just to get this particular step right and finally got it when Hannah (my sensei!) said "ah? just like hantak kaki (left foot, stomp right, stomp left)" then I finally got it. Thank yooooou Hannah!

Anyway when I got home after watching Monster House with Yihui, Charis and Jacinth (and after buying a cup of Dublin Mudslide ice cream! I love that flavour) I went to practise the dance steps and downloaded the song we're dancing to.

Now today, after practising a little bit more without stretching beforehand, I pulled a muscle. Wonderful. At least the muscle I pulled is one of those seldom utilised muscles - I think. It's the front muscle connecting my right arm to my shoulder. Jacinth on the other hand is "aching all over", I wonder how the other girls are faring...

Today Steve Irwin died. I was never a big fan of the crazy dude, but when I found out, I was shocked. It seemed like given the tracklist of the fella, he'd NEVER die or something. Led a charmed life. Either way Atropos decided to cut that charmed thread and well, we have dead Steve Irwin. Okay. I get it. He's dead.

Anyway the point of this post is that lots of people on MSN have been putting up the turtle emoticon, presumably to
mourn dear ole Stevie baby. What?!

Earlier this year, some guy in the Sinagpore govenment died. The girls raising the flag during assembly had to do half-mast and all that. The fact that I don't remember his name at all is really sad, sadder when compared to the fact that he did so much for Singapore, but nooo, no teenagers mourned him. Now we have a dead self proclaimed crocodile hunters and suddenly everyone has gone all turtle. Right.

Anyway I now present the ANTI-TURTLE league Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting for anyone and everyone who detests such strange hypocrisy and false mourning. Alternatively you can use the 'sheep' (bah) emoticon on MSN to show your anti-turtle support! Since he was Australian, the sheep emoticon makes more sense than a turtle. The only similarity a turtle has to Steve Irwin was that crocodiles were like, green too -.-

This is not an anti-Steve Irwin league, nor making fun of a dead man, but simply to rebel and protest against the shameless pretension of these people! Down with unthinking minions! Join the ANTI-TURTLE league Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting today!

Last night after I did the relatively short entry on yaoi (see previous entry), I continued to browse though all the yaoi doujinshi (fan-made manga) that wonderful ebay had to offer. The more frequent pairings were shinnxathrun, kiraxathrun, kiraxmu, shinnxkira, with the occasional yzakxdearka, and kiraxeveryone. I know that most of you guys have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, especially the irony of some of the pairings.

Anyway one thing struck me the most about the yaoi doujinshi was that the cover pictures, were extremely laughable. Of course there are the usual Japanese oddities which make one go O.O and WTF?! It being the school holidays, I took the time to save some of the more interesting doujinshi covers…

Presenting the WTF?! covers:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Athrun the cat! I have no idea what it is about these weird pseudo-cat things that some people find horribly sexy and arousing. It. Just. Looks. Plain. Weird. Dude.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Now it's Shinn the cat. This one is naked too, with a bell around his throat. Fascinating. And I thought adults dressing up as babies in diapers was weird.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This one, on the other hand, is completely unexplainable. It's just weird on so many levels, hell it's even more surreal than Dali's melting clocks or Munch's The Scream. From two cats, Athrun appears to have evolved into a man, playing with his weird pet, Shinn, who lives in a dog house. What?!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This one is just well, strange. It can't quite beat the above covers, but is weird enough nonetheless. Athrun looks like the Dutch Lady brand milkmaid and is dressed up all girly. This reminds me of the Uncycopedia article I partially wrote: "joined by his androgynous sister who probably is a lesbian, Cagalli Yula Arthha her equally homosexual on-off boyfriend, Athrun Zala."
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
See above. Strange-r only because of added Yzak with a ponytail and Athrun in a wedding gown. They also both look exceedingly angry, probably with the person who drew them dressed in that fashion.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is the last of the '?!?!?!' section, mainly because this cover takes the '?!?!?!' cake. This reminds me of some fetish called Vorarephilia, which I had stumbled upon one day unfortunately/strangely. Yum yum! Unidentified Earth Alliance person for my breakfast! I can't even rememeber the name of the eater, all I rememember is that he was one of those 'druggies' from Gundam SEED.

Now with the '?!?!?!' section done with, we move on to the 'It'd be a crime to not caption these covers' section.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This is the pairing that first alerted me to this whole yaoi Gundam doujinshi thing, Mu La Flaga (blonde guy) and Kira Yamato (brown hair). Mu, was the character that first got me hooked onto the Gundam series. In this cover, he looks like he's keeping a lookout for Capt. Murrue (who he's supposed to be in love with by the way, my favourite pairing!) and Kira just looks happy being... hugged.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This one I shall dub 'Caught in the Act!' Their drawn expressions are totally hilarious and you can almost imagine their girlfriends walking in on them canoodling about.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Everybody loves Kira! Feat. Kira, Yzak and Athrun, the latter two who looks like they'd love to savage Kira in the next panel of the comic.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
But of course, this one takes the cake. Absolutely. This one is more like 'Everyone wants to rape Kira'. Practically all the male characters in the Gundam series (minus Mu, I'm glad to add), are gathered around Kira in a mob, gazing lustfully at his er, bird. Athrun stands on the sidelines, looking a tad bit too jealous...

This one isn't quite so bad, in fact it's pretty artistic, if not a little emo-ey, judging by the poses of Mu (grrr!) and Kira.

However it also contained an except of the manga inside...

Fascinating stuff indeed.

I have just one last image left, hopefully my Photobucket account does die on me on account of this rather photo heavy post. This one is quite sweet actually, the pairing of Flay Allster and Yzak Joule, imaging them if she didn't die in the first Bloody Valentine War.

Anyway that's it for a long long time. Happy Sept. Holidays!

I think Yaoi (male on male hentai/doujinshi) is very funny. Same goes for slash fanfiction. I mean, BDSM, being whipped and tied up for sexual pleasure, to weird sex orgies. Yeah I sort of get it, but that doesn't mean I support it. Yaoi/slash on the other hand is like: 'HAHAHAHAA WHAT THE HELL?!'

It's like some huge joke. And the best bit is that the biggest fans of Yaoi are straight females. Not even gay people. No offense against gay men out there or anything, I believe loves does transcend gender roles and so on, but damn, yaoi is just plain funny. The funny bit gets better when you actually follow a series and the slash pairings are just. so. unbelievable. I remember once I did a post highlighting the weirdest Harry Potter slash I could find, I think one was of Snape and Filch (the caretaker).

Anyway yes. Yaoi is funny, and I really ought to go sleep now.
Not too long ago, about the beginning of this week to be exact, the heater in my bathroom broke down. Okay, no problem, I just went to bathe in the bathroom attached to my parent's bedroom. Then my father fixed the heater, so the next day I went back to bathe in my old bathroom -.-

Damn. Fixed?! More like extra screwed. The heater, which is the same brand as the old one (I went to check it out) is now extra screwy and extra sucky. The water pressure is like, negligible and the only dials on the heater are for i) mind numbingly cold and ii) hell fire/water/greek fire. There's a iii) too, but I'm not that sado masochistic.

So instead of enjoying a nice warm shower within a reasonable amount of time, I have to endure 30 minutes long showers, because there's too little water coming out, turning the water knob to full doesn't make a difference, AND I have to try a find a balance between a scald-exfoliation and coming down with a cold. I have half a mind to go without bathing for the next few days till my dad relents and buys a new heater or something. Now one of the things I seriously put off doing is bathing. Heck, I'd rather start studying again than bathe. That's how bad it is. Bloody shower.
