Contrary to what a certain person thinks, this morning was not funny at all.
It started out on a nice note, with Ya Kun toast and tea with Ian (:
It was after worship that things started to go downhill. Melvin came.
I also had my very first asthma attack today.
Coincidence? HA!
At least I got to see Star Wars today finally with Ianthe and Cherie (:

Saw Camelot yesterday courtesy of Ianthe's mum (:
It was very nice! All the dancing and acting, however the singing wasn't that great. Spotted a few ex MGS girls up on stage including Olson house's ex-captain.
The dancing made me think what would've happened if I had joined dance in sec 1. Hahaha, I know what you guys are thinking, "Melodie? Dancing? She can't even walk without tripping over something!". Hahaha, oh well (: In the end I didn't join because I didn't know anyone who was joining dance.
In P1, I used to take ballet. But after that, I kept on losing the CCA sign up sheet so that was the end of my dancing >.<
Still, guides has been once of the best things that's happened to me, because of all the friends I made there (:
Oh well. 'Tis the Lord's will.

Wheeeee. Got my results back!
Percentage: 54.35%
L1R5: 26
MSG: 5.25
Remarks: An intellegent student, Melodie should try to participate more in class. She has a pleasant disposition and gets along well with her classmates.
Oooo. How interesting. I kind of did better than expected for my results, in fact, this must be the best mid term result I've gotten since I entered sec school (I can't actually compare because I don't have my book with me).
My L1R5 sucks real bad though, but it could have been worse (:
Thing is, I couldn't even feel happy with depressed looking and crying classmates all around. I even feel bad for not failing :/
Oh well. Strange black pepper chips (:

Rain rain came today,
Thank the Lord, for the day!
Didn't have to run today,
Rain rain came today!
Wheeeee. The cross sountry run got cancelled! 3/4 of MGS got stranded at Macritchie and I wasn't one of them! Hahaha :D
Ianthe's dad came to pick me up late and just as the car was turning out of my houses' lane, the call from Cherie came saying the run was cancelled and that we had to go straight to MGS! Yayayayay :D:D:D:D
Ianthe and I started to call other people and I got through to an oblivious Shermaine and from Vicky, found out that majority of MGS girls were stuck at Macritchie. Phew. Thank goodness Ianthe's dad was slightly late. Boy am I glad I didn't take bus.
When we got to school, there were about 50 girls out of all the hour levels looking disoriented and unsure sitting at the concourse and watching the rain.
Then, we went to the audi and they screened Vita è bella, La, or in other words, Life is beautiful.
It was so nice!
Then after recess (the milo van was there :D) we went to watch the book parade finalists. The winner for the upper sec was so predictable but all the same we still cheered for Ianthi and Cherie when they were on stage (:
Wheeee, I hope they can't find a suitable replacement date for the run :D

Aaaaaaaa. I failed maths :( by 2 marks too! And when you put it upon 100, i only failed by 1.25 marks :'( Noooooooooooooooooooooo. I really tried very hard this time 'round! Aaaaaaaaaaa.
Got the rest of my marks back today. Can't say i'm extremely displeased or very happy either. This time, all the exams were so hard! Only three girls passed geography too.
Surprisingly, I didn't fail SS + Hist, got 60/100 :D some consalation I guess, however I didn't do as well as I would have liked for Geography, E Math, Literature, Biology and Chemistry (thought that was my best result)
Aaaaaaa. I know it was really tough, and I did study hard, but still! It's just so upsetting. I didn't fail overall unlike some of my classmates, managed to scrape through yet again, but still :(
Especially for the dumb E Math! So close yet so farrrr.
Actual, Projected and Wishlist for Marks
English – B4 B4 A2
E Math – D7 D7 (at least it’s not F9!) C6
Chinese – F9 F9 F9
Social Studies – C6/C5 E8 C6
Half History – C6/C5 F9 (forgot some things!) C6
Literature – C6/C5 B4 A2
Geography – C6/C5 D7 A2 (note huge disparity)
Chemistry – B4 C5 A2
Biology – C6/C5 B4 A2
With such wonderful marks, the overall had to be fantastic too! A measly 52.81% with chinese seriously dragging everything down as usual. Aye.

YAY! I passed math! :D:D:D:D:D but it's only paper one. Aaaaa. I really hope I pass Math overall. The rest of my marks have been rather dismal, but just a pass for math and i'll be really happy! First a pass then a C6! Yayayayayayayyyy.
English was sad on the other hand, got a B4. Apparetly if you're writing about a tourist attraction, it's supposed to be good. How was I to know? Jeez. instead i wrote a desciptive essay on seedly ole Clarke Quey. At least I passed. Aaaaaa, 3B3 had the most number of failures among the B-band classes (no scholars to pull down the average).
Interestingly enough, Muriel also got a B4. The two girls who got the top scores of an A2 dropped all the way to B4. Oh well. Could've been worse.
Geog, Lit, Chem and basically everything tomorrow! Aaaaaaa. Freaky freaky :(
I want a kitty (:

From Vicky's letter:
"Melodie - Ma'am [poofy!]: Whai you! Yes, you looked ridiculous while offering feliciations today at Chapel - tripping over the wire while being blinded by the projector beams is very amusing, I must say..."
O.O
When I was walking for chapel on Monday, Cherie and I were talking about Star Wars (: Just a Cheire god revved up and was making funny noises and talking about the special effects, the dumb technican removed the projector cover just as we walked past and we both of got blinded.
Dumb projector.

Ahahaha. Today's debate was so cool!
It was some exhibition debate, MG vs [my current school from 2007 to 2008] (I think). The motion: Females are the deadlier sex.
It was totally hilarious! When the three guys came out, everyone clapped. When the three girls came out, everyone clapped, cheered and screamed. Hahaha.
Of course the guys were the proposition and the girls the opposition.
However as the debate progressed, the motion soon turned into: Christine (one of the debaters) is deadly to the male sex.
Here are some gems:
the first female debater is talking about how men are stronger, making them the deadlier sex
"Point Madam" - the guys
"Yes?"
"But Christine can beat *points to one of the guys on his team* him at arm wrestling!"
one of the male debaters is making his speech
"Point Sir" - Christine
"No Sir" - the debater
one of the male debaters is trying to make a point
"But Christine..." - the proposition
"Christine is an exception!"
And it when on and on like that. Very entertaining. When Christne came out, she blew us all away with her speech and responses. Man, she was really good! During her speech, she was interrupted by the proposition who used Desperate Housewives' Gabrielle's affiar with the much younger gardener.
The whole debate soon progressed into a thinly veiled debate on men not being able to satisfy women and sex. The most laughter was heard from the gallery where the upper secondary was seated. Thank goodness, or else I'd really worry about my juniors -.-"
-----
Ohhh, I didn't make it for the 3rd round for the prefectorial nominees. Oh well. Tis the Lord's will. Anyway, can't say it wasn't expected. The disasterous interview was a blessing in disguise, ie: no worrying since I already know the result. If all went well and I didn't get in, then I'd gone crazy trying to figure out what went wrong.
The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Oh no oh no. There's a reply from the prefectorial board regarding my profile sitting in my inbox. I don't dare open it :/ aaaaa.
I bet it'll go something like this: we have interviewed you and found that you are mentally unstable and have self esteem issues. This is a picture of us (the prefects) jumping on a printed copy of your profile. Have a nice day and keep 5m away from us.

It was bad, it was bad, it was bad.
I met Tian Ying and Faith at 2:30 and we were all nervous, around 2:45 we went to the confrence room only to find that the interviews were being held at 1I.
When we reached 1I, we found three seats outside facing the classroom, inside we saw Miss Ho and 4 prefects, a sec 3 girl being grilled inside.
After waiting for some time, I decided to pray. As I was praying, I heard whispers that sounded like either 'Miss Goh' or 'Miss Kon', when I finished praying and looked up, there was Miss Goh.
She began to say how she was marking chem exam scripts and decided to go for a walk, she said that since I was so sickly, I should not become a prefect and that I shouldn't be a prefect because of how i was and went on to say that 'It must be someone up there who sent me here'. As she was talking, Faith went inside.
When Miss Goh left, I felt so upset I started to tear a little, but I quickly dried up my tears and went to read the newpaper that I had in my bag.
Soon, Faith came out and Tian Ying went in. My mind was screaming for me to run away, since Miss Goh was probably God's way of telling me not to go in, yet something compelled me to stay. Stay and do my best, which of course turned out to be a very bad idea.
When I was called in, I immidiately started to screw things up and my voice kept on quivering as I spoke, on the verge of tears. I was just so terrified. However it was one of their questions that got me.
I can't remember the exact question, but the only answer I could think of was to tell them of the whole guides leadership thing. Of course that touched a raw nerve inside me and coupled with the fact I was scared out of my wits, I started to cry as I spoke to them.
After what felt like an eternity I was allowed to leave and just as I stepped out of the classroom and began to close the door, the chattering began. I don't have to find out the results next week, I already know it.
Even before the crying began, my answers were weak and not exactly stunning.
I went around and gathered up my bag before running to the toilet to cry some more.
Useless, useless, useless. That's what I am, I can't teach, I can't think well, I can't lead, I can't get things done, I can't even sit through something that makes me sad without crying.
Faith and Tian Ying were long gone and I decided to walk home.
"'woe to you!' she screamed at the tree, 'for you had not waited for me before falling.'"

Oh no oh no. Prefect interviews in a few hours! Aaaaaaaa. I'm so scared. Must calm down. doing my profile for it now. Aaaaaaaa. Freakyfreakyfreaky :( Oh man, my profile looks so boring. Aaaaaaa. My vocab for the profile is that of a P3's. But what to do? I don't know what else to write. Aaaaaaa. Okay. I think i'm done now.
I’m Mel Wong from Sec 3B!. My CCA is girl guides and I am the patrol second for my patrol. I am also 3B!’s welfare officer and I have also taught Sunday school to the lower primary children in my church. I believe that my character can be described as fun, caring and helpful. I think that a prefect should be strong in the face of adversity, and she should remain upright and retain her integrity no matter the circumstances. Being a prefect would mean a chance to give back something to MGS, a school that has cared and nurtured me since primary school, and a chance to serve God outside of church.
Aaaaaa. Going to send it off now I guess.

Everyone's been so nice to be today! You guys are all so great (:
I almost fainted again today. Aaaaa. I had the same tummy pain, and I was feeling rather weak by the time I had walked up to the hall. I went down for assembly early with Grace and when I left her by the flagposts for the class area, I already needed some support to stand up. Everyone was so worried (and that person didn't come, Thank the Lord), but I managed to last through till the devotions.
It was Mrs Sim's tale of some princess (?!?!) that got to me. I couldn't last that long and I sat down. Immidiately Miss Goh and Mrs Liow (Yeow?) were there to help me and Miss Goh gave me her neck massage again despite my protests.
Then I was brought up by Eleanor and Yihui to the staffroom where Mrs Liow brought out Mrs Nat Lim.
After that (I wanted to take the exam), i was helped up to the hall and had to lean on Marina in order to get to my seat. Aaaaa.
When I started writing, I discovered just how weak I was, even holding the pen upright and writing soon tired me and soon I was dozing off (well, partially because it WAS chinese) and I struggled to stay awake. However, in the last 30 min, Mrs Liow came in the invigilate. she came around to wake me up, brought me warm water in the freezing hall and hugged me a few times to cheer me on.
Aaaaa. Guilt guilt guilt. In her Lit class i drew in my Lit book. During english I threw paper balls around and she even submitted my name for the prefect things without objecting. Aaaaa. She's just so nice, boring, but nice.
I went home for a short nap and to change before meeting Cherie, Angeline, Stephanie and Ianthe at Citilink Mall.
At Suntec, we wandered into Times and a bought myself a Patricia Cornwell book, however it was too big for my handbag so I carried the bag around. Back at Citilink Mall, Cherie and Ianthe were looking at it (we were at crepes and cremes) and I forgot completely about it.
At orchard, I suddenly remembered my bag and everyone went back with me to Citilink Mall to get my book back! Aaaaa, so nice! I feel so touched by everyone today.
Shall bring a gift for them on Monday (:
Oh no. Prefect Interviews are tomorrow! Aaaaaa. Mine's at 3:10PM. Aaaaaa. I'm scared, and I have yet ti finish my profile. It's so boring!

The vandals have struck MGS! And they can't spell too, F**K is no spelled F*K. I hope the police catch them.
Litlit! Eeee, I wonder how I'll do. When I was talked about Dr Stockmann (I wrote Q2), I said "It's like reading a story about an idiotic duck who stands in the middle of the road and refuses to budge, no matter what." Oh dear, I wonder what will happen -.-"
Half Hist tomorrow, then Chinese on Wednesday. Aaaa. Hmmm, I will study Chinese for at least 30 min tomorrow! Much better than last time and I WILL write zhen zhen ri shang correctly, though I still have no idea what it means.
Oh nooo. Exams ending. This means the prefect interviews and the submission for the profile is drawing closer. Aaaaa.
Actually, I have no idea why I'm so worried. I'm not going to be a prefect anyway and I have nothing to lose, but still! Eeeee.

Yay, the major exams are over (:
Yayayayay. I can feel the stress flying away (:
Random thoughts during the exams:
"spiderman... spiderman (the theme song)"
"ahahaha MAHTS 2" --> and they didn't change it at all! It was still like that when we finished.
"why's there a star on the floor?"
"eeee. bug!"
"ohhh. it's raining. heaven is crying"
"so cool. Inez. what an interesting name"
"what the heck is that?"
"huh?"
"that doesn't seem right..."
"oh dear, I forgot how to do it."
"oh no, I'm going to sneeze."
"And we’ll be faithful to our calling..."
"aaaaah! CONCENTRATE!"
"this would be a good picture..."
"why does Jtay sound so strange when he says 'time's up'?"
"hehehehe."
Ahhh. Lameness (:

About a month ago, I overheard Yin Ling and Mrs Lim talking about sending a get well card to someone. Being curious as usual, I asked who they were talking about.
Turns out, they were sending a card to Kristen, or Krikwa. Apparently she had done very well for her o levels despite staying in hospital for most of the time. I didn't really think much about it after that. After all, i remember hearing in sec 1 that she was recovering from leukimia, the treatment had worked.
Too bad I didn't make the connection that day. She suffered a relaspe and died on Tuesday. She was only 18.
I can't say I knew her, heck, I don't even know if I've seen her in person before. When I entered Guides in sec 1 she was already in hospital. It's just that I can't help but feel a tinge of sadness. It's just so hard to accept.
And she was called home to be with her Father.

Ahhh. Last night was bad. Very bad. I couldn't sleep till one thirty am this morning, then at three am i woke up scared because I had a nightmare. After that I barely managed to sleep before I had to go get ready for school.
Aaaaa. Wonder I survived today. Thank goodness I don't take A Math.
Interestingly enough, the ending of my nightmare was kind of queer. There was this long hair ghost (think Ju-On) who wanted to steal Ryan's soul, because he's a child, so I was running with him away from the ghost and when I sort of reached safety, there was this teacher who appeared. I asked her why the school didn't call a priest to exorcise the ghost, and then I woke up immidiately. In fact, I woke up jusy as I thought of the word 'priest'. Strange.
I hope I don't get another nightmare tonight.
Oh dear, Chemistry tomorrow! Eeeeee. I'm still a little blur about Acids, Bases and Salts. Aaaaaah.
