HELLO MY VOICE IS GONE.

Last night I couldn't sleep at all. 12 passed into 1 and the hours melded and folded over each other, the next one bringing mounting frustration and when I got up my voice was gone, flown away on a sea of chocolate.

Then I had to try and get to school by 7, so I got up earlier to try and get a cab to school, but they all ignored me and I got fed up and walked to Holland Road, there the same thing happened and as the minutes zoomed past I had to call my school bus driver in desperation and he very nicely picked me up from the bus stop at Jelita.

At school I went with Chun Wui to the Audi and everyone else was there and Le Reverse Weeaboo had a look of horror on his face when I spoke and quickly took over my reading parts, so in the end I helped everyone mark attendance and some NCC boys were making jokes about someone's name and sex (his initials were C X something), much to my amusement at their brazenness.

Throughout the day I didn't feel tired at all, but breathing got increasingly hard as more phlegm formed at the back of my throat. Even sexy Irishman's totally incomprehensible lessons had no effect on making me tired. I did nod off a little during Ecology though. But either way I've gone for more than 24 hours without sleeping, and I don't feel the least bit tired: worrying to say the least.

After school I asked my dad to pick me up so I could go to the doctor's straight and when I got into the car he was fuming mad because my maid told him to come at 4:30pm when I clearly said 4:50pm (I did it in 24 hours format: 1650). When I asked my maid later she said 50 = 1/2 therefore 1650 hours = 4:30pm Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket. Anyway we ended up just missing the doctor's by a little bit and had to return at night when the clinic opened again.

I went in and the doctor told me I had some acid reflux, bla bla bla, so SEE I'M NOT CONTAGIOUS IDIOTS. He didn't even ask if I wanted a MC. When my dad arrived he spotted the brochure for HPV inoculation, ie: Cervical Cancer, so after the last patient came out (since the clinic was now empty anyway) my dad went to ask the doctor about it and BOOM, before I knew it I was being offered up to have a needled poked into me ):

Ow jab.

Hopefully I can sleep tonight!

So today during recess I left school early to go to the Ob-Gynae because I'm 2 months pregnant* and I was keen to escape from Swimming PE.

Anyway no, I have some sort of infection, leave you to imagine/don't imagine where it is and 1) I wanted to see the doctor as soon as possible 2) I couldn't do PE and didn't have a plausible excuse so I managed to arrange for my dad to bring me and green formed after Econs. I had to return back for UG awards rehearsal anyway so it wasn't like I was skipping school so I could return home to slack moar.

My dad brought me to a clinic near school and the doctors there were two brothers. That's right: a dude rifled round my knickers - for less than 10 seconds anyway, and he just poked me once (there was a female nurse there helping me though). When I think about it, it seems strange, but honestly he must have seen more vagoos than I have seen in my entire life, looking at my own included, so surely there was nothing pervy about it. Basically he ran through things I had already found out myself online the previous night (the joys of internet self diagnosis!) and asked me a battery of questions. The one I found most interesting was, "Are you sexually active?", to which I replied "No" and then he leaned in closer and stared right into my eyes** "Have you had sexual intercourse before?", "No".

Afterwards I had lunch at the hawker centre there before going back to school.

At 2 I went for the awards thing with Patrick, Nic and Chun Wui and Asyikin and by horrendous luck, I got both of the Indonesian names. Nothing against Indonesians, but in South East Asia they have the most fantastically tonguetwistertwitter hard names (well the Chinese Indonesians anyway). Mai wasn't there so I had to take over for her reading, and when I was reading out the BB (her section) during the dry run, it was a disaster. Some students weren't there and as a result the names announced were wrong because the sequence was out of whack, and earlier some overeager students went out fast and I got lost. AHHHH. Like the prospect of screwing up in front of everyone (well my voice anyway since we get to hide behind the curtains) was not scary enough, I really did mess up :x

Freaking scary. Can't imagine Monday. I guess I'll have to practice during the weekend or something, since I can/am unduly nervous for something inconsequential to the rest of my life (unless I mess up real good and this becomes the stuff of legendary anecdotes).

So wooooo. This is quite literally one of the longest posts I've done in a long time. Have a great weekend!

*surely you can't be daft enough to believe that right?

Anyway here's an interesting link: John Frum and the Cargo Cults. It's related a little to TOK, so give it a read. Pretty cool too (:

So far everyone has been saying that the Simpsons movie has been utter crap, and I personally haven't seen it, but from what I've heard on the net, they really went all out on the advertising campaign.

As guessed that is a Simpsons rendition of me, LOL, using the Simpsonizer! I used the usual Anna picture, since that one has just about sold it's picture soul to the hounds of hell. Go check it out :D

Sigh I miss I miss!
Okay my Real Lives game just divided by zero and died.

Today after I came back from school, I went to take a nap and end up overshooting my planned time by 1 hr+ (goodness knows how I will get to sleep tonight :x ). Anyway for the first time in a long time, I dreamed.

It was really weird and extremely life-like, I thought it was real! But I would never have wished it was. I dreamt (why is there firefox's squiggly red line below that word?!) that I did something which was misinterpreted by everyone and made the one I love the most really angry at me :x and toward the end of the dream I received a wedding invitation to Christian Coulson's wedding [the invitation was apparently from the bride's side: apparently I was a fan of her but I don't think she exists in real life]!!! In my dream Cielo got invited too (mine was because I was a member of a fan club) and I was calculating if I would be able to make it, it was in a US state AK (Alaska) and was in October.

But yes that was weird. I remember Cheryl was in it and so was Lex, along with other people from class (+ Petrina from 5.2) and we were wandering about and going to someone's house (it seemed to be mine, but it doesn't look like mine) and blahhh. Weird dream :x

Best part: When I woke up I realised that I wasn't going to Christian's wedding and wouldn't get a chance to see him, I felt disappointed. LOL. And relieved that nothing bad happened :/

Melt into a pool of water and drown all that come by

Sunday, July 29, 2007

Hello. Bullshit meters at 100% - proceed.

TOK is such a joy, really.

And I finally finished HP7 after starting on Friday. The ending was too abrupt, but I guess it was the best the author could think of? It didn't go the way I thought it would and grrr, no Tom Riddle ):

Tom Riddle is hot :D

FOA was err... :x had a great time though, thanks to all my friend there. Now they know that I am not the maddest girl they'd ever see.

TOK is really a major pain in the ass. As a result I ended up talking out of my ass half the time. It saps up my time and makes me frustrated, and then when I get frustrated I can't write. Hello paradox, you look lovely today.

Also today was major waste time. Sexy Irishman was sick, Bio teacher went for cricket match and reverse weeaboo English teacher went off gallantly to rescue his Year 6 IOC students so I pretty much had the second half of school free after TOK lecture.

Meanwhile: spend your life playing Real Lives! ('tis free... and addictive!)

Help. I drown in myself.

Friday, July 13, 2007

Blargh. HP5 last night with the cousin. It was good (:

It really touches me how much people are to help me through the whole mess (still ongoing :/) with Chinese. People I never thought would give a damn, do. And for those who I knew would care enough to help, have helped so much indeed. However despite everyone's help Chinese is still a major pain for me and has reduced me into a wreck of sorts :/

Nevermind I will survive! Somehow!

Tuesday, July 10, 2007

I got back my result for the common tests today, and while I didn't fail anything (Chinese included), I did get the lowest in the level for Chinese (back to my old status as Chinese Fail Queen like in MGS) and Math Studies (out of 3 people, got screwed over by [er well you know, metaphorically] freaking teacher) and overall percentage was slightly over 60%, disappointing to say the least :/ and on the IB scale I got less than 30 points. Sigh. Very very very bad.

And thank you, to all the good samaritans out there who helped me when my Chinese teacher was being an asshole :x

I'm starting to really hate Chinese again.

The last few days that have passed by, Wednesday to Thursday, perhaps a little of Friday, seemed to have just melded into each other; nothing memorable, each day that much different but that much frustratingly similar and unsatisfying despite the little, magical moments shared.

Wednesday was stars and ice cream, out in the punishing sun, coupled with a cousin full of energy bouncing about.

Thursday was waiting at the bus stop with you, getting all the rubbish I bought from the USA.

But yesterday, yesterday was different. Baking odd banana cheesecakes with Nic and Lauren (cousin), getting trussed up and dolled up to the amusement of Nic and you, eating at Sakae Sushi (which freaking gave me food poisoning, I felt like fainting multiple times that night and puked from the immense pain in my tummy, worst 30 minutes of my life so far) and totally failing with my bad chopstick skills, watching Lauren totally own a Add Value Machine, waiting patiently with you and her at the station control to get the machine fixed, jumping about frustrated as I watched your bus zip by, waving like madmen at the passing cars and cheering when people waved back or even looked at us.

Last night was quite the night. Thank you both for making it possible (:

And in other news: DARYL IS KING ^_^

Sunday, July 01, 2007

Every once in a while when there is no work to be found (well minus the ever present annoying TOK essay) and I laze about languidly on the bed, doing nothing in particular, I tend to take a step back (metaphorically!) and think about how much my life has changed this year, and how much more I love things now than what they used to be.

Last year if you told me that I had a chance to make it to ACJC but instead opted to go to ACSI instead, I would have laughed in your face. All I was aiming for last year was ACJC, even up to PAE registration, ACSI was only on my list as a joke school, 3rd from last, before HCI and RJC. Yet the week after my results came out I chose ACSI as my first choice, then ACJC. Even till today I have no idea how I ended up in ACSI, like impulse took hold of me, or was I guided instead by Someone Up There?

Being with the class is frankly, great. Never before have I felt so free to just be myself (though no way in hell was I this perverse till I met Chun Wui and Cielo) and this feeling of acceptance from everyone, not to mention the warmth and friendliness everyone in class exudes and having weird experiences like mysterious guy trying to flirt with me on my 1st day of school, mistaking Shao Xiong for a China scholar :x, shouting 'teabag' and I tossed a balloon sac at Chun Wui, watching MONG tap dance with my broken umbrella in class/Cao trying to use the Orgasmatron on TzeYong, having my ass and breasts groped by Cielo repeatedly, Nic suddenly shouting 'WHAT THE HELL' as he lies dead in his seat/then falls over dead from his sudden exertion, Ted Kin running around stealing food, Daryl suddenly laughing his evil genius' laugh and scampering off, Darren going 'DO NOT WANT' at me, repeatedly, Cheryl coming up with a weird idea and being all :D while everyone else is -_- (think class goldfish/plant). I could go on forever and ever, goodness. I don't think I could have agreed more with Gerald when he said that he really loved 5.9.

And of course how could I forget you? Sticking bottles up Gerald's ass, then getting whacked by Gen for abusing his bottle. I must admit I forgot it was you who did that, I forgot about it, one of many weird happenings in class, till you reminded me about it and said that I had a 'horrified look on (my) face'. The first time I remember talking to you, I asked you if you were doing anything for your campaign and you said you weren't going to do anything and I remember being all O.O; that was just a few months ago yet it seems so far away now. Never could I have imagined things would turn out the way they did, and I wouldn't change a thing in the world.

Thank you all (':

Friday, June 29, 2007

Okay so woooo, maybe I might just not fail anything after all.

I hope!

And this horrible week has finally come to an end, though the thought that this will all be repeated again in Term 4 isn't too far from my ever pessimistic mind :/

Thursday, June 28, 2007

Okay fine, so maybe I won't fail Math Studies, of all things (1st question: How many minutes is it to 4 o'clock? Underneath: picture of a digital clock in 24 hour format) but tomorrow is Bio, and that's really my weakest subject AAAAAAAA.

I want to pass, but besides that I really fear failing because I am scared of my teacher :/

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Wednesday, June 27, 2007

Mmm, going to fail Math Studies tomorrow ):

Monday, June 25, 2007

Why thank you... You're the best Math teacher I ever had.

Up and leaving like that without a second thought.

Nevermind the fact you're still holding onto our worksheets.

Nevermind the fact that you were supposed to contact me during the holidays and teach me the stuff I missed out in Term 1.

Nevermind the fact it's 3 days to the Math exam and I still have no idea what the hell I'm going to do because HEY I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.

So now I have to beg my Sec Math Tuition teacher to come and try and salvage my Math, the day before my Math paper.

You win the teacher of the year award, honestly!

Thank you SO MUCH PAUL FOO.

I hope you got
fired.

Wow 500th post, and damn, this is going to be a good one.

I was on msn just now when someone added me, before I could ask who it was the person asked me if I was a Melvin... who wanted cybersex. The convo that followed next is sexually explict and no way would I have had the balls to do it if I didn't have cw goading me on, LAWL.

Beware people, but it's still awesome.

By the way it was a female, unless it's a gay guy or something.

Happy 500th post ^_^
That time of the year has come around again and the invitations have been sent, it is homecoming for the 2006 graduands of MGS!

However studying mind-blowingly dull Bio has one effect on the mind, the ability to generate random bouts of amusement out of thin air and I just added another tick to the form they sent out, "my parents will be attending..." except it's addressed to my aunt. In the USA.

Ohohoho!

Friday, June 22, 2007

I honestly cannot wait till all of this is over. One more week, one more week! I tell myself, but somehow the stress level I'm at now is actually comparable to what I felt during the O levels, there is much less to lose, but all the same there is even more that could be lost should I fail this time and unlike the O levels, it's a school tradition to typically bulldoze over all the students every mid-terms.

Watch us fall, white, bare necked, bowling pins across the tiling of the boarding school hall
(or if not everyone else, me at least).

And there is nothing more that I want than to just snuggle up to you and close my eyes, and drift off into a deep slumber.

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Shit I am really dead (besides being dead tired) for next week's tests. I still have quite a bit to revise, and worse still I have to really pick up what I missed out in Term 1 in addition to the revision, not that it's the first time I'm touching Term 1 work, but before it was just reading through, but now I not only have to merely understand it, but to understand it really really well. It doesn't help that not much assistance was given to us 2nd intake students for the lessons we missed during Term 1.

So besides that which is making me stressed out, my air conditioning is being damn weird and switching on and off by itself, and the temperature keeps going from ice cold to normal. Essentially, it's freaking possessed.

Hooray.

As always JLC's post on the sleepover wins hands down, and it was quite good all in all (: Though for most of the part everyone was doing different things like watching movies on Chun Wui's laptop or playing Darren's Wii. Oh well. Though it seemed like no one would sleep at all, by 12/1-ish Cheryl was conked out on the bed upstairs, and the last people to sleep were also the most drunk, at 5:30-ish so now it's a sleepover instead of a all night party! Aha.

And I am talking rubbish now.

Thank you for making it all the more enjoyable (: (wish I could say more!)

I just remembered this random quote from some time ago

My History Group: Eh who won the Spanish Civil War? // Dunno, ask Patrick!
Patrick: The Spanish

Incidentally that's what chapter I'm studying now. Can't... concentrate. Damn.

Aha くろあげは!

I feel like I haven't done much today.

Ho hum.

Oh yes: HMV is having a great sale on now, especially on dvds/vcds (did not check out the cds), bought 4 of them myself for under S$27, so yup, really worth it. Problem is, where do I now find the time to watch the huge backlog of movies I have?

What a delightful problem, hohoho!

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

This morning my mind was literally in overdrive, great, fantastical ideas were coming out, even more unbelievable and the other. Only problem? I wasn't thinking of school work or studies - I was thinking of how I should do Anna's myspace profile. Stay tuned, I have some really weird/elaborately planned profile for her! Aha.

Like I ever needed another reason to hate people.

As if that bloody video was not bad enough, the comments are like... WTF MAN. 3 idiots taking up time on the idiot box was bad enough, but the comments show that there are so many other brainless morons out there.

There are books out there so horrifying to read that one must periodically take breaks from the pages, for total immersion would literally tear away at one's soul and belief in mankind.

And as Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer's Plays Pretty for Baby (thank you Elliot!) rings over the speakers and thoughts of you come to mind, I feel the burden lifted away, the peace once again returning to my heart.

Thursday, June 07, 2007

Today I was at a class outing to watch Ocean's Thirteen, despite the fact I have not seen Ocean's Eleven or Twelve.

I met up with Mong around 12:30 at Paradiz Centre and we walked about aimlessly, weaving in and out of the shopping place till we ended up at Peace Centre and Chun Wai called, so we went (taking our sweet time actually) to go meet him, and along the way Gerald came. We had lunch at this Kebab place at Peace Centre, which wasn't too bad, but can't be compared to Anatolia at Far East Plaza, the service was crapped too as the guy taking orders largely ignored Mong, Gerald and I to entertain the other older female customers (or alternatively you could not consider me female as most people do). I swear that place was filled with women, the only males around were from our group.

After lunch we went to play snooker? pool? God-knows-what, and the last time I played was some mini-pool thing when I was 10, so I had no idea how to play (and in retrospect I have no bloody idea what I was playing anyway) and Chun Wai and Gerald had to teach me how. The game itself was pretty funny since I was obviously bad at it and was paired with Chun Wai, together (more like him being 99% and me 1%) we managed to win every single game (3) against Gerald and Mong.

Around 3-ish Darren came, followed by Cheryl and Joash, then Ted Kin. Mong even played Para Para and got the top position - only because it had evidently never been played on before. Later Darren, Cheryl, Mong and I played Daytona, and I ended up against Darren and got my ass kicked, around the 16/17th lap, Ted Kin came by and tried to save the game, but I was losing too severely. Then we walked to the Cathay and Cielo managed to suddenly sneak up and appear behind the group of us, then Matthew/JLC. Jim and Anne made a less sneaky entrance and Shao Xiong was outside the cinema area.

We had dinner at Billy Bombers and Cheryl had this really weird Cheese Soup thing :x Afterwards we walked towards Plaza Singapura and just spent the rest of the time wandering about there before retiring to Starbucks and then heading home.

So effectively I have not done any work today :/ Not that I am some super-hardworking person, just that wtf, I feel like I have a lot of work to do these holidays and I still have a very overdue TOK essay due to PTan, on the other hand the only person from my class who has handed it up is Chun Wai, mad!

3 days more.

Monday, June 04, 2007

I'd always known the nights would be terrible, even before you mentioned it yesterday, just not this bad.
Happy Birthday (or sun yat fai lok) was simply the best movie I have seen in a long time, entirely character driven and as minimalist as it could possibly be, a world away from the many blockbusters around as of late.

Wow, OEP was absolutely mind shatteringly great, save for TBot and R (also guest starring Emil). I think it's safe to say that we are all throughly disgusted and pissed with the rock hard duo (how the hell did Song Yeong come up with that name?!), but nevertheless despite all the super duper highs and death-valley-lows, overall it was a great experience, and I would eagerly jump at another chance to be overseas with you guys again, minus the trio (hint hint Cielo!)

On the trip it suddenly hit me that bam! I was overseas, for the first time without any familial relations about, with people I had not known 3 months ago, joking, laughing, being perverse, bitching, talking cock, and basically having a great time like no other before, I cannot recall ever being so comfortable and at ease before with so many people. It feels weird when I think about it, but on the other hand the feeling I get when I'm with them simply overrides everything. Words, could not express the love I feel towards 5.9 now.

Besides the more 'superficial' happenings at OEP, it gave me a chance to have really good talks with people, and my mind has been blown in, out and all about this past few days, and suddenly things are so clear - so clearly twisted, painful and hard. Suddenly a line appeared between two dots that I had assumed were connected to other things, like a child's game of connect the dots gone horrendously wrong, and the lines of a poem formed in my mind, but they were quickly forgotten. It changed the way how I saw things, the subtle nuances all blown up and highlighted in my mind.

Will blog about OEP another time, when I am less tired.

I have detention tomorrow.

See last week I skipped the softball finals with Nic, Darren, JLC and Patrick to go to the National Library to do work for our History IA, later Daryl came along after he marked attendance. It turns out Gerald the care bear marked as us absent, since he is extremely honest and all that, which is kind of unusually moral behaviour for a youth his age, though as a result of his honesty I will have to wake up early tomorrow *shrugs*.

Anyway tomorrow those of us who didn't go for the finals, minus JLC (how did he do it? :o ), have to report to school at 830am for a forced study session, which actually isn't too bad. I just hope that I am allowed to use my laptop there because for the huge shitload of work I have to do this weekend, ALL of them have to be done in Microsoft Word. I am shackled to the demon that is technology.

Of course the kicker is that WAY more people skipped the finals than those that got caught, but we have been chosen to pay for your sins!

I am talking shit. I don't really mind it actually, all I care about is if I will be allowed to use my laptop to do work.

Group 4 project today turned out to be way more fun that I thought at first, the nonsensical parts being when 1) Patrick and I tested Apple Jacks and 1 mol of H2SO4 (it dissolves) 2) Chun Wui making tea out of boiled leaf juice 3) Cao and his pillow trying to sleep in the lab and other little bits here and there. Mr Leow also managed to break a beaker and hurt his hand while at it. Of course this also means I have the joy of writing another bio report ): gah so much work this weekend!

I just spent my night doing a pointless TOK thing for TOK day next Monday, and as I sent off the e-mail to the teacher in charge I forgot to attach the file -______-

I am tired.

'On Friday, February 16, 2007 Akçam was detained at the Canadian border for nearly four hours. He was due to give a lecture at the invitation of the McGill University Faculty of Law and Concordia University. The reason given by the Canadian authorities was an inaccurate claim in the Wikipedia article on his person around December 24, 2006 that he is a terrorist, the result of vandalism.'

From Taner Akçam's wikipedia article.

History IA is such a major pain in the ass.
Yesterday I discovered one of the most perplexing random things that someone has ever done to one of my things.

I left my maroon pen on my desk in 5.9 as I went off for my Math Studies class (yes I know, Math Studs) and when I came back for Econs I didn't really look at it as I put it back into my pencil box. Then during Econs I took it out to jot down some notes and I looked at the barrel, the messy remains of the price tag I half peeled off were gone! It was one of those annoying price tags where the glue is so sticky that the backing gets ripped off when removing the price tag and even when you remove the backing, the sticky glue is there. I sure as hell could not be bothered to remove it.

Flash back to Econs class. I literally sat at the desk staring at my pen in confusion, wondering if I had taken someone else's pen by accident, for a few minutes. I couldn't concentrate on sex god's lecture because I was so confounded by the pen.

Is CLow's Chem lesson so boring that someone would rather remove price tags off other peoples pens than pay attention?

Cause and effect, the butterfly effect!

I believe that our past plays a huge role in our present lives, even the littlest change back then would have resulted in us being a different person today. If there had been no car accident more than 14 years ago, would my brother have been born normal? If Lenin's brother hadn't be executed would he have gone on to lead the Bolsheviks?

And I am probably not making much sense since I am dead tired.

Still for everything, the good and the bad, I am in my own way thankful for them, for I believe without them happening I wouldn't be who I am today.

Even if they are the most terrible things ever.

You scored as Psychology/Sociology. You should strongly consider majoring (or minoring) in Psychology, Sociology, or related majors (e.g., Counseling, Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology, Social Work, or other social science majors).

It is possible that the best major for you is your 2nd, 3rd, or even 5th listed category, so be sure to consider ALL majors in your OTHER high scoring categories (below). You may score high in a category you didnt think you would--it is possible that a great major for you is something you once dismissed as not for you. The right major for you will be something 1) you love and enjoy and 2) are really great at it.

Consider adding a minor or double majoring to make yourself standout and to combine your interests. Psychology and Sociology are both great minors to add to any major. Please post your results in your myspace/blog/journal.

WHAT MAJOR IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
created with QuizFarm.com

I remember doing this before, but yes, I did it again! This time I saw it on Chun Wui's blog, who koped it from Lex's blog... and the list goes on. Blogger is back to normal.
Blogger keeps going through this perpetual cycle of looking really screwed, leading to me wanting to post less, not like there are a lot of very happening things in my life right now, instead my life have been completely engulfed by the great amorphous creature that is the IB programme.

I thought this week would be a sort of slack week for me, instead it's turning out to be quite a busy, tiring week.

Things I need to do:
Bio Practical 13
Twelfth Night Questions with Nic
Japanese Homework
IOP Essay
History IA
History DBQ/Esaay (probably won't do the essay though)
TOK Essay
Economics DRQ-Essay thing
Chinese various homework
Mock IOP (still haven't thought of a topic yet)

ZOMGGGGG. There goes my weekend ):

Oh and here's a link to something I found while trawling the inter-net on yahoo, an old picture I drew that was submitted for a website.

Apparently my blog looks really weird in any browser that is not Firefox... However I use Firefox and anyone who doesn't and complains about my layout can go screw themselves. HAH.

Also for the past few days Blogger has been acting really odd. If anyone has noticed I set up a new blog for Anna, but have yet to transfer things over. There is nothing new there, save the new introduction and (possibly?) new tag line.

I have been sleeping late for the past few days and my mind feels utterly blank now.

Oh and my books from the USA arrived today! I now have my books for Hist IA and EE (:

YES YES YES YES I FINALLY GOT THE THING TO WORK!

AFTER 3 NIGHTS OF TROUBLESHOOTING AND FRUSTRATING SIFTING THOUGH HTML!

Saturday, May 05, 2007

Gasp, I have just pissed away like 1 hour plus trying to figure out the html for a template, and I'm still not done yet.

Anyway today I saw The Phantom of the Opera during the matinée with my Uncle and Aunt! During the opening scene as the old stage comes to life, the stage crew had trouble with the cloths covering the stage decorations. One section got stuck and remained hanging on the right side of the stage for about a minute before a head popped out and fiddled with the cloth for a few seconds before it fell to the stage floor.

The famous chandelier scene was kind of a let down for me :/ I though it'd be more dramatic and faster somehow, but yes! It was exciting nonetheless.

Again watching Phantom made me side with Raoul and Christine, rather than the Phantom. Sure, I pitied him, but his willingness to kill, his disturbing obsession with Christine, they quite put me off him! They reminded me of this serious paranoid phrase I went through when I was Sec 3 and rejected someone :x

The high notes sung completely blew my mind. I don't believe I have ever heard such high notes being sung before, and they were repeated many times during the entire duration of the play. It pwns MGS girl screaming, if you need a benchmark on how awesomely high it was.

The scene where Christine and Raoul sing All I Ask of You was so beautiful, easily the best scene of the entire musical! There was no grand set to that scene, but it was sung so well and convincingly, the lyrics so moving and beautiful it just blew me away (:

Tonight in a moment of madness, I suggested visiting Orchard Towers to Patrick, who I was out with. After some laughter and apprehension, we went inside.

For those not in the know, Orchard Towers is famous for its 'four floors of whores' and at 9 pm-ish on a Friday night, things were just getting started as we entered. In short it was literally a condensed 'higher class' (if ever such a term could be used to describe the ladies of the night we saw) version of Geylang and the women there were mainly Thai.

Right at the entrance there was a person sitting on a wheelchair selling roses, presumably profiting from some customer anxious to please his escort for the night, looking decidedly out of place and absurd there; but then again so did we, two teenagers wandering around the seediest place in Orchard Road.

There were many women there, wearing all manner of low cut, revealing clothes, walking like they owned the place (a catwalk style of walking), tossing their long hair all over. Some gathered in groups near the entrance of bars, speaking in their native tongue, while others walked about confidently, looking for possible patrons. One had peroxide blond bleached hair, was really tall and wore a short skirt and tight top. According to Patrick, 'her' voice was lower than his. However they all had one common denominator, they were all not good looking.

I am hardly a paragon of beauty, yet goodness! They didn't look that bad to be fair, just average normal, borderline ugly, not gorgeous babes at all. You could see some of their saggy boobs protruding from their low tops and some had no boobs. Pleasant stuff.

They were foreigners, in a foreign land where they are ill regarded by the populace because of their jobs. They sell themselves at bargain prices to men who have little care or concern for them, who invade their most private places nightly. Because of their jobs, they will possibly never find love and at the end of day wind up with some form of STDs which will affect them for the rest of their lives.

Is it supply that produces demand, or demand that results in supply?

I survived this week! YES YES YES :D

I'm probably going to fail Econs and Bio though :x

Now Chinese and English left + History and Econs IA left.
